My shower had all but dried up, and the poor folks using it thought I’d gone overboard conserving water due to California’s sad drought.
But no, I said, the same thing happened with my other shower. And while a handy friend’s solution to this earlier trickle-down problem was to remove the slow flow rubber thing, another handy friend had an altogether revolutionary idea in this case:
Clean the shower head in distilled vinegar. Huh?
A quick search later revealed that a mixture of vinegar and baking soda not only foams up like a mad scientist experiment but multiplies the cleansing power.
Within an hour the vinegar / baking soda mixture had transformed my life.
Gee, that’s kind of hyperbole, you might think. Not quite. Because while the shower now douses water like the Amazon, this mixture serves as an amazing natural cleanser.
I tossed the remaining liquid around the shower and within minutes it was sparkling white!
My kitchen sponges are now soaking in vinegar and baking soda, and the remainder will clean the kitchen sink.
Sure there are natural cleansers available. But especially if you have kids (or are a kid at heart like me), the massive foaming when you toss in the baking soda and the knowledge that you’re using the same ingredients you cook with have made me a cleaning fiend! And that was no mean feat.
Put on your lab coat.
