There’s this crazy city turkey who has been taking morning walks in, down and across the city streets. Where did she come from? Where is she going?
Those are all the questions I have for the Turkey of Berkeley. Partly I see this turkey as an oracle, making appearances to make us think about our choices and slow down.
This turkey gets noticed.
Do you ever step into traffic? Or step into situations without knowing what exactly is going on? This baby did. Cars screeched. The turkey made it across.
Go shopping when you shouldn’t? This was a different day from the previous Turkey Gate. This time a girl and her dog ran into the street to try save the turkey, herding it back onto the sidewalk. The turkey survived two major streets. Where was she going in such a hurry?
Early bird sale?
She seems to have learned. This morning, Miss Turkey stuck to the sidewalk. No one else was on the street, as you can see. Just me and the turkey.
The world is changing. Turkeys in the city. Coyotes in the Northeast and what the New York Times calls a “seismic shift” in how people eat. More on THIS soon!
We are all going somewhere with our behavior.
I really don’t think this turkey is lost. Somehow it is getting somewhere with its uncanny behavior, walking down city streets. Does it just want attention from humans? Did another turkey do a “pink elephant” dare to cross the road? Maybe a chicken dared her.
There’s always some outcome we’re pursuing from our behavior. It’s been a big thrill to help some recent clients change the behaviors they undertake in pursuit of their desired outcome. Such a fun way to grow and live.
Happy Thanksgiving, to and from all of us turkeys.
